Hosea Guinness


Son of Arthur Guinness and Olivia Whitmore. .

Born in 1764, the fourth year of the reign of King George III, and died aged seventy-six in the fourth year of the reign of Queen Victoria  He has 163 direct descendants in the family.

Biography


Rev Hosea Guinness was born on July 12, 1765, in Dublin, Ireland, he was the eldest son of Arthur Guinness the famous brewer at the time of his birth his father, Arthur, was 40 and his mother, Olivia, was 23. Hosea was christened 12 Sept 1766 .He attended in 1773 a Quaker school in Ballitore that was started by Abraham Shackleton (1726 to 1836) Educated also at Oxford University .He married Jane Hart on January 19, 1794. They had 14 children in 38 years. He died on May 3, 1841, having lived a long life of 75 years.
