A brief biography

William Charles Richardson

Son of William Pengilley Richardson and Sarah Jeffreys. .

Born in 1851, the fourteenth year of the reign of Queen Victoria, and died aged seventy-three in the fourteenth year of the reign of King George V  He has 29 direct descendants in the family.

Born in Ware, William Charles Richardson registered as a grocer at 18 Queen Street Maidenhead in 1895 although there is circumstantial evidence that the shop could have been established 1870-1875, since the first child of the marriage was born in 1876 and William and Martha are almost bound to have met as they were both shopkeepers within shouting distance of each other in Queen Street, Maidenhead.
Queen Street was built circa 1860 as a speculative development. The building still exists, it was Marshall's Stationers for decades, in 2005 it was a professional photographer's shop.

William married again soon after the death of Martha Ada in 1888, to Marion Fordham, they had one daughter Marion Richardson who died at birth.
