Born in 1914, the fourth year of the reign of King George V, and died aged sixty in the twenty-third year of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II

Rev Jack Clephane Guinness was born on 29 August 1914, Westland, New Zealand his father, Edward, was 38 and his mother, Ida, was 27.

In 1946 Jack left his native New Zealand to join 20 other novices at the Anglican Community of the Resurrection in Mirfield , West Yorkshire.

His natural gift of Mimicry was legendary ,shaggy dog stories promoted by his personality saw him the centre of attention.

He was unaware of his close relationship with the Brewery Family but discovered he was a member of the senior line .Great-great-great grandfather Rev Hosea exchanging his inheritance for the church.

Jack was not a social climber and the high life had no appeal to him .1951 he took his final vows of poverty,chastity and obedience.

Laughter ,plus his depth of humility along with patients and sensitivity personified his being..

He traveled South Africa and Australia.

Jack's health deteriorated, doctors diagnosing cancer.Who advised the removal of his nipple. He joked and said,"He would not be needing that anyway"

Died 1975 :Buried in the gardens of Mirfield.
